View Full Version : Mites
My SD retic had a minor case of mites a few weeks back. I completely cleaned his viv, baked the furnishings, changed the substrate and directly treated him. I looked in his viv this morning and noticed him soaking. When I looked in his water bowl, you guessed it, mites. His viv is in the living room and my bp's viv is in the bedroom. The ball doesn't have mites. I was wondering if this could be a result of the retic's viv being in a generally close proximity to the front door? Any insight or tips?

Maybe you probably missed a few eggs & it just happened over night..
Try cleaning the viv with white vinegar?
I scrubbed it with alcohol and let it air out. Is vinegar better? Just wondering.

soak it in bleach and then vinegar, then boil it, and blast it with radiation from the microwave.
Pretty sure no mites will be left after that.
and use Provent-a-mite

There is no such thing as a minor case of mites. Thats like saying you have a minor case of pregnancy.
I would treat both animals and their enclosures and any other herps with nix then I would nix and vacuum the living crap out of any carpeting. Everyone should be on paper towel until it gets sorted
