respiratory infection? help

hey everyone, so i've noticed recently that when i'm holding my coastal carpet python i can kind of hear a whistle when it's breathing. However it only happens if it has been out of it's cage for a while. I also opened it's mouth and checked the inside and there doesn't seem to be any bubbles or built up mucus. There also is not anything dripping or coming out of it's nose. Do you guys think this is the start of a respiratory infection? or could it be something not to worry about? if it is a start to an infection, is there any way i could stop it before it gets bad? it also is hard to go to a vet around here, so i'm looking for some answers ASAP. thanks everyone

If it's ONLY when you hold it for a prolonged period of time it could easily be "out of breath" and exhaling loudly.

What are your temps?

it's pretty warm in the room i keep it in, which is the only one availabe. it's about 83 on the cool side and 92 on the hot side.

Might wanna lower the cool side but for an ri the first thing is to raise temps so it should be ok.

His temps are fine. I agree with Aaron. No other symptoms means he just needs more excersise. He is "huffing" . My female rescue has done this. They whistle when winded. Just keep everything the same and monitor it.

a lot of carpets huff and puff after they've been out their tank a while

i have carpets who whistle coming up to a shed,it usually goes away after they shed

they can also whistle after a shed if theres a piece of shed stuck up a nostril

if there are no other symptoms then i would not worry too much mate

My friend's pretty sure his woma python has a respiratory infection, going to the vet tomorrow but I was wondering if anyone knew the probability of mine catching it from a few minutes of interaction with his snake?

A few days ago, before he knew about the respiratory infection, he thawed some rats, but his snake didn't want to eat them. It was about the time to feed mine anyway so I brought him over to eat em. Eventually we want to breed our snakes, or try, and it was the first time they'd met so I put em together for a little bit.
Just wondering how much of a chance mine could of caught it?
He seems pretty healthy right now, but I don't really know how long it would take to show any symptoms, anyway. :/

Why would you bring your animal there instead of just bringing the rat home with you? That is such a lack of common sense. They don't need to meet or spend any time together in order to breed. And this is a perfect reason why when you do s breeding loan you should still quarantine.

The guy doesn't have a car, I do. It was the faster option. It's not a situation I plan on repeating, whatever the outcome.

That still doesn't make sense. You went there because you have a car, and you went home after. Why did you bring the snake there and back instead of bringing the rat back with you? There is no logic behind what you said

You've already got the answer, most carpets whistle when roaming around and what not. My jungle would do it after cruising outside his enclosure for like 10 - 20 minutes if I remember correctly.
