I bought a Coastal Tiger from Kerry King in March at NARBC Tinley. She was born 6-30-11 and fairly small for her age but she's growing at a pretty steady pace now. She was taking weaned rats when I got her and she's up to smalls now, hopefully before too long she'll be taking jumbos. She's in shed now but I was snapping pics of the carpets so I thought I would get one of her. She's pretty brown right now but after shed she's extremely white which is why I decided to go with her. Plus now I can say I own a snake produced by the guitarist from Slayer. Pretty cool guy too.

A few weeks back a friend of mine found out he would need to sell his snakes due to personal reasons. He had a pair of Irian Jaya adults that had given him a nice clutch full of healthy little babies over the winter and he offered them to me for a price I couldn't refuse. I'm not sure how pure the female is but the male is a fairly nice example of an IJ and the fact that they're a proven pair made it too good to pass up. I picked them up today and snapped two cell phone pictures while I was getting them set up.

Female (I believe she's in shed right now as well)

Anyways, thought I would share them with you. I'll get some better pics when I'm not feeling lazy and after the Tiger sheds.

Thanks. Its interesting to work with them and learn the differences between these guys and retics first hand. There's a few more morelia species I plan on getting when the funds are available.

Carpets are addictive. Perfect balance of "wild and tame" if you know what I mean. Are they nippy at all? Very nice to have one of Kerry's snakes...notice my avatar :)
Nice carpets Kyle, really like your tiger

Not at all, the IJs are 5 and have been handled their entire life, you can reach right in and pick them up and they give you a funny look but that's about it. The female is really calm, absolute puppy. The tiger seems a little skittish but hasn't struck since day 1. Lucked out on these three, no snake hook required!

Thank you, you should see her when she's not all brown and ugly!

Very nice. Coastal always look amazing after a shed like a whole new snake. Once they shed i love to see some post shed pictures.
Love the tiger! Great markings. Hope to see a fresh shed update when the time comes! Congrats on your pic-ups.

I think he might be my favorite of the three, his coloration is top notch.
Can't wait to get them out of quarantine and move them into their permanent enclosures. I've got an arboreal rack which is the current home of the tiger and will have 2 more empty spots once the IJs take up residence. Still debating what to put in there.

I'll hook you up if you ever have room. The IJs stay pretty small, I mean these two are proven breeders and under 6 ft.

Make a rubbermaid setup for now. Can't go wrong with a free snake really.

I wish i could, but i would rather have a proper set up ready and good to go, before i get a new acquisition... that's just me though :)

I don't care if it was a roto rooter toilet snake, if Kerry King was selling it, I would probably buy it.

Very nice. Kerry produces some nice Tigers. The IJs are nice as well. I esp like the dark female IJ.....I used to have an import that looked a lot like her. Her babies were outstanding though.
