i got mine at a TSC/general hardware store for under 30 USD. Not sure if you have those up there, but i'd think that would be the first place i would look, and would save on shipping.
good luck!

The Zoo Med Temp guns are about $35-$45 at most reptiles stores.

Before anyone passes this off as crap I've tried this one and it's accurate.
I also like the HDE heat gun.
A lot of people like pro-exotics but I'm not sure where to get that in Canada.

The zoomed one is crap. 230 F max temps? (not that you need higher) Where is the warranty? And why should you pay more for it than ones you can get with 1 or 2 year warranties that read temps up to 8 or 900....
Go to a hardware store if your going to put 30 - 40 dollars into it. The pet stores and companies are notorious for taking stupid things, and slapping a "for reptile" sticker on it and tripling the price.

I use this one as well, and have found it to be quite accurate as compared to my digital thermometers. It also reads ambient temps on an ongoing basis.

If you don't need 230F max temps then why would you mention that point? I feel like you just want to negate everything I say on this forum for some reason.
It's not crap OP. It works. You can get better but the zoomed repti-temp is far from a bad product.
EDIT: by the way, it has a 1 year warranty. I just called Zoo Med. You should know what you are talking about next time.
So it's accurate, has a 1 year warranty, and it can read ambient temps constantly. For 30-40$ the price is pretty similar for other temp guns that you can get with the same abilities. It's a good product OP.

I should know what I'm talking about when you say it reads ambient temps right? If your going to be spending the money anyways, why would you spend the SAME OR MORE on something that has a significantly lower temp range? Its just stupid.
What does ' read ambient temps constantly' even mean?
For 30 to 40 dollars you can get one with triple the range, and ability to read temps at a further distance.

Why would you need to read above 230F? You said so yourself. It's not a valid point in proving that the repti-temp is crap.
I should know what I'm talking about when you say it reads ambient temps right?
What is your point? Do you know what reading ambient temps means? I guess not since you had to ask.
What does ' read ambient temps constantly' even mean?
It means exactly what it says. Hard time understanding?
For 30 to 40 dollars you can get one with triple the range, and ability to read temps at a further distance.
Still doesn't prove your point that this product is crap. Just because something else can do more, doesn't make it bad. I can read temps all over my enclosures just fine with this one temp gun even though I have others as back up. If it can do what it's supposed to do then it isn't a bad product.
You also forgot to the address the point where you falsely accused the product of not having a warranty. So yes, you should show some intellectual honesty and know what you are talking about.

I'm not interested in getting into a pissing match with anyone here...just want to clarify what I said. So, basically, it displays the current temperature in the direct vicinity of the temp gun at all times. To get a temp reading of a specific spot, you point the gun at it and push the button. After a few seconds, it will revert back to reading ambient temp.
I can see the point in wanting a gun with higher temp ranges if you're going to use it for something else as well....say checking engine block, tire, or shock absorber temperatures, etc. But for someone who will only use this for herping, 230 degrees is plenty of range. Again, just my humble opinion and not meant to insult or berate anyone.
