Hey guys so I saw someone selling a BP on kijiji for 80$ which is very cheap around here! Also as I dug farther into the ad it comes with a full setup! The person says that he is getting rid of him because he is to busy with school!

I have a picture of it just wanted to confirm the morph and see if you guys can tell if he is healthy from the picture, I have only one picture I can try to get more!

He uses a mix of aspen and moss as bedding, but I want to switch to bark!

Also I dont believe there is a UTH but there is a heat lamp! Would that work for the temps? Or should I also purchase a UTH?

Ditch the light go with a uth on thermostat and cover 3/4 of the screen lid to keep heat and humidity in

the snake looks relatively healthy from that picture, but you have no idea when the pic was taken, that could be from last year, but i say go and check it out at the least.

Mites...look for mites...

And morph? It's a normal.

Also check the belly to make sure there isn't any signs of scale rot in case they left the tank too humid/wet. Otherwise he looks pretty good but sometimes pictures can be deceiving so be prepared just in case :)

On the other hand I hope it works out for you! :) I'm guessing this will be your first ball python?

Check that the eyes look clear and healthy, that the snake is moving and acting normal and alert, check for mites, check the belly for any signs of burns and/or mites. Check under the mouth for mites too. Don't jump on it just because it's a good deal. If it works out, post pics and tell us about it. Good luck! :)

Take your hand, run it down the entire body with a firm grip. Look in the palm of your hand. If there are mites, they will be on your hand no bigger than the period at the end of this sentence.

You can also check under the chin since it's white under there and black specs will easily be noticeable.
