Re: What to get - first lizard

Beardies get my vote as well, i will say I have a Spiny tail iguana (one of the desert species student mentioned) and while the little guy is great to watch, he out right looses his mind every time...

Re: Beardie stunt growth!

Night lights do not give off uvb. also, you should have a day light spot lamp.

my beardies have 3 lights each, 1 night bulb which is on 24/7, 1 daylight spot lamp which is on during the day and 1...

Re: Beardie stunt growth!

Some are just slow growers, some are just small. We have one that hit 18"within 6 months. Another is just about a foot in 8 months or so. Definately push the greens though. Its a staple once they get...

Re: Lizards together

I wouldn't house multiples of anything together, not even within the same species.

Separate species require different husbandry, so temps, humidity etc will be off for at least one of them. Also,...

Re: Feeder Breeding To Become!!

i use rubbermaid (plastic) totes for mine, they cant climb smooth surfaces as JP said so they cant get out. also, they are a tropical species so they require higher temps to reproduce. i keep mine in...

Re: Feeder Breeding To Become!!

I would recommend dubia roaches instead of crickets. dubs are really easy and dont come with the stench and constant cleaning of crickets.

ive currently got 2 colonies running and may soon expand...

Re: Rustoleum/krylon hammered metal and textured rock spray paints

I used one of the stone accents to redo the stock on my .22 rifle. It took almost a whole can to get solid coverage as the accents are meant to be used as a top layer (similar to a candy apple type...

Re: My reef aquarium

Did you have any trouble with the lion trying to eat the other fish? I've been looking to add a dwarf lion to my tank. I've read a few places that they can eat fish up to their own size and tend to...

looking into a basilisk

So I've been doing some research and keep finding 4x2x3 as a general enclosure size. I know these are high energy animals and can poentially hit 3'. The size suggested seems small to me I do plan on...

Re: 2.5 to 5 gallon tank

To me the key is considering the native habitat of the animal. even cbb still have the instincts of their wild counterparts. and animal from dense jungles will do fine in any size tank provided the...

Re: 37 killed from Marijuana - Day of legalization in Colorado

my 2 cents...

I truly think legalization is the key here. As said, it should be controlled similar to alcohol and tobacco. Again, it will not stop under age use, how ever it would result in many...

Re: 2.5 to 5 gallon tank

Petco currently has a $1 per gallon sale. I've picked up a few 40Bs for my smaller guys. you can get the larger tanks for less than half price.

Re: Sealing a Boamaster enclosure?

Re: Sealing a Boamaster enclosure?

Most pet stores sell tubes of fish tank safe silicone. Its what I use for all my custom tanks. I will say to give it a few days to dry and air out though as it does give off some fumes while curing.

Re: Another Noob Question, do snakes like to be handled

As said it varies animal to animal. My bci climbs right out of her tub, up my arm and around my shoulders. My rainbow however tries to bite about everything. (He has grown to tolorate the rare...

Re: Are covering side of tanks needed

I like to take peices of carboard and tape them to the outside. I typically paint them in a camo pattern it kinda flows with the decor inside.
