[ask] Burmese Python Breeding Project

hello there,

for so long i've been lurking here and finally i have a question and i want to ask for an opinion.
long story short, since pandemic is making my work kinda hard, i decided to be more focus on my hobby.

at the moment, i have:
male ivory burm (poss Het Green)
female ivory burm (poss Het Green)
female pearl burm
female granite burm (poss Het Albino)

all of them is around 2-3 years of age.

im looking for another male, what morph is consider best to pair for what i have? as for now my friend want to sell me a male hypo green or male pearl. or maybe you can give another morph that is recommended for me? since i can only have 1 more (space allocation)

thanks a lot for your feedback. sorry for my bad english, english is not my main language.

cheers

Re: [ask] Burmese Python Breeding Project

I'm going to recreate your list to make things easier for me, let me know if I got some genetics wrong.

Male super hypo (ivory) poss het green
Female super hypo (ivory) poss het green
Female hypo albino (pearl)
Female granite poss het albino

You need one copy of the hypo gene to see an effect on a snake.
You need two copies of the albino gene to see an effect.
You need two copies of green to see an effect.
You need two copies of granite to see an effect.

You have a lot of hypo in your collection, it seems like you would not need more. You lack a male with the albino or granite gene. You may or may not have any copies of the green gene.

I might be inclined to breed to the possible het greens together to see if the het proves. If you want to prove the green in the female then you'd want a visual green male.

Otherwise I would look for an albino male or a granite male.
