New kid on the block~

Hey y'all. Kelzz here. I'm new and not sure if I'm even doing this correctly but I recently caught a baby Eastern King Snake. I named him "Slick" and he's approximately 8in. long. He's been hiding for about 2-1/2 weeks but I know he's roaming around the terrarium cause I see the trails. My question is... Will "Slick" eat the feeder if I just put it in the cage for him to find? Or do I need to get him out of hiding and dangle it in front of him? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!☮️

Depends on whether you're feeding Slick frozen/thawed or live food. Generally, dangling a dead prey item in front of the snake and jiggling it will create the illusion that the prey is still alive.

King and corn snakes are likely to eat the prey if you just leave them in there overnight. Being wild caught might make the snake less likely as it is used to live, but it might encourage the snake to be more opportunistic as well.
