How many DeKay’s brown snakes in a 10 gal?

Hey!
I’m here to ask how many DeKay’s Brown Snakes I can have in a 20” x 10” x 12”. It will be an open front tank with eco earth or something similar for substrate, with lots of leaf litter and hides. I know they are very very small, and escape artists, is there any way I can reduce the risk of them escaping? Does it matter the gender of them to keep them together, like can I keep multiple males? Or will that just result in trouble? Thanks!

I don't have experience with Dekay's browns, but it's probably best not to keep multiple males together, just in case.

More likely than not, you're going to end up with a wild caught snake. I'd house them separately in an effort to keep track of who is eating and who isn't.
