Question Possible Kinks on my Baby Corn Snake?

Okay, so I JUST bought a baby corn snake from Petco a couple days ago. It is probably about 1 - 2 months old, and only about 9 inches long. The first couple days I had him, I carefully inspected his body and did not find ANY imperfections. I also did it this morning. But when I got home this evening, I took him out of his cage and I noticed about 3-5 "bony feeling" bumps on top of his backbone. They are about halfway down his body and lower. They are also about half the size of a pea. Does anyone know what these are? The snake still have full mobility and movability where the bumps are. Are these possibly kinks? Please help!

Re: Possible Kinks on my Baby Corn Snake?

My local Petco stores all have a 15 day wellness guarantee. if any issues come up you can take it to their local vet at their cost. Check your paperwork from the store!

See if you can return the snake and buy a corn snake from someone reputable.

Re: Possible Kinks on my Baby Corn Snake?

i got a corn snake from petco, it refused to eat. I went back 5x trying to get help and a vet visit out of them and they said it was perfectly normal. this went on for 3 weeks until she ended up dying. i took the dead snake back, and they tried to blame ME for not seeking help! i was livid! finally the manager came out and remembered me asking her for help on one of my visits and offered a replacement or my money back. i took my money back and went elsewhere. i now have a beautiful healthy lavender corn. ( have added 3 other snakes to the collection from the same place since then ) petco does not verify the health of their pets before selling them. the one i had that died was a hatchling that had not eaten or shed before they decided to sell it. no reputable breeder or retailer should sell a snake before it has shed and eaten a few meals! i would ask for verification next time..i learned MY lesson!
