Help.... scales acting weird.

I have a red tail boa and I have had him for almost 6 months. He eats great, is very active, and has always shed wit your issue. Lately I have noticed while I hold him his scales seem loose I guess. He shed about a week ago and it all came off but it came ooff in two sections. When I picked him up about 4 days ago I noticed that on his belly there were 4-5 scales that were I guess like buckling and were a little pink. I was afraid it was scale rot so he been giving him baths in betadine solution and putting ointment on the area. I'm afraid it is not working as it has been 3 days since I started the baths and it seems the only change that has taken place are more pink patches on other areas of his belly.

Re: Help.... scales acting weird.

It's hard to tell if that is retained shed or an infection. I don't like the look of the blister-y area though. Has he been anywhere he could have burned himself?

If it does not improve soon, I would take him to a vet.
