Unhappy Snagging Scales?

My 3 yo RTB Apollo has been pretty healthy since I've had him. (Had one bout of mites but I think I've completely eradicated the little b**tards. still treating for em)

When he curls up and moves against himself, however, his scales seem to snag on each other and it really freaks me out, had him for a few months and this has always happened. Also there's parts where it seems like the very tips of his scales kinda fold? He gets fed one medium rat once a week. Any suggestions or opinions?

Re: Snagging Scales?

The folds in the scales are likely from being coiled a certain way for so long. I noticed these folds were much more common with my 2 BCI than any other snake I've owned. Nothing to worry about.
