So my Dad showed me this today.

Snake uses tentacles to 'see' in the dark

Apparently its the only snake with tentacles. The biologist say that they use them to hunt and determine where fish are going to swim.

There are a number of videos of this snake on YouTube. This one I saw a year or two ago and does a nice job of showing the attack sequence. The snake twitches one section of its body to startle the fish into moving toward the snake's head.

I've seen one of these in person.

^it might not be clear in the pic, but that snake was underwater.
