Lightbulb How to breed a Ghost Bloodred Stripe (Diffused Ghost Stripe/Hypo Granite Stripe) Corn

I have a hypo diffused female corn snake and i have no details on her parents as I got her from petsmart and they are extremely corporatized. I am wondering what type of male breeding mate I would need to breed a Ghost Bloodred Stripe corn snake. If this is not possible to determine from the information I have, please let me know what combinations of breeding pairs I can breed to aim for offspring with more traits. I was going to get an Anery Stripe male in attempt to breed the two for the quad-trait Ghost Bloodred Stripe (Anery+Hypo+Diffused+Stripe), but i dont believe it is that simple.

Please let me know what kind of male snake i can buy in attempt to breed for Ghost Bloodred Corn offspring. If it is not possible, please let me know what other kinds of triple-trait or quad-trait snakes I can breed for and what breed of male corn snake I would need to do so. Just so you know what kind of snakes I'd be interested in breeding, i was aiming for a Ghost Bloodred Stripe because of its beautiful white/gold color and blueish/silver eyes. I also love the Silver/Gold Anery Stripe and I love bright colors; as far as eyes, i was really aiming for an offspring with silver/blue eyes. Thanks in advance(:

Re: How to breed a Ghost Bloodred Stripe (Diffused Ghost Stripe/Hypo Granite Stripe)

Nearly all corn genes are recessives, there are a few that are more complicated but hypo, diffused and Anery are all recessives (must receive a copy from both parents to express it) and are the 3 genes making up a Ghost Bloodred.
Here is a good gene calculator you can use to try out different males and see what you'd get.
The Corn Calculator - Corn snake genetics prediction
It's missing a few genes but is fairly complete and will link you to a morph gallery with pictures of what potential offspring would look similar to.

As to you question, the ideal male for you female would actually be a visual Ghost Bloodred but at the very least should be het for all three genes. However, if your girl is not het Anery, none of their offspring will be visual Ghost Bloodreds, however (depending on whether the male is het or homo for all the various genes) all or most of the babies from that pairing, the F1, will be carrying all the genes you will need to make your target of Ghost Bloodreds, when they are paired together or with another, unrelated snake with similar genes, that would be called the F2.
Anery is a very common het for a lot of corns in the pet trade to have, so your odds are actually fairly good that your female could be carrying that gene.

Listen to what Charis says.

I am unfamiliar with all the corn genetic names however I know they are recessive so both parents need to carry the gene. Either visually or in "het" form.
