yeah I normally try to feed it rats but it will take both with no hesitation. It won't do f/t so i just pre-kill the rats now in the room and he takes them just fine. they die quick so it's not cruelty.

Mice have a stronger odour than rats, so if your snake is more used to eating rats this might let her hesitate for a few seconds before taking the mouse.

I think its all about getting the size right for the snake. No point feeding a ball python tonnes of rst pups instead of a small/medium mouse and as has bee mentioned if a ball python will take rsts better to get them to take something like a large rat instead of numerous jumbo or large mice :-)

Getting back to the original topic though.... I find some of my snakes are strike feeders and others are drop feeders.....fussy little things
