What are these? Burns?

So, yesterday I was holding pajamas and noticed these white spots on him, mostly near his head. Got some pictures today, and I would like to know what you think....(also, the scratch on top of his head is from his last live feeding experience....it was either mice or live, and he hadn't eaten in 2 1/2 weeks as is...it's doing better, he's just GOT to stop rubbing!)

Re: What are these? Burns?

From the picture it looks like he is losing his color...

Re: What are these? Burns?

yeah, it looks like that in person, too. These only showed up after he was loose for the 4 days...do they lose colors in patches like that? And is a vet visit in order?

Some snakes colors change but I am not sure about Tics.. I would guess just timing and keep an eye on it. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.

Re: What are these? Burns?

I certainly hope so...retics usually don't lose color, from what I've seen

Re: What are these? Burns?

They don't look like burns, he could just be loosing his color since they don't look like scrapes or anything. I would just keep an eye on it, if it seems to change rapidly or Pajamas starts acting weird I would take him to the vet.

Re: What are these? Burns?

hahahaha, he's already pretty weird ;D Only thing different is he only takes food once every 3 weeks, sometimes longer, but i blame that on the time of year. temps are spot on (90 hot side, 78 cool side...sometimes a little lower), and humidity is great since he keeps knocking his water over *grumbles*

Re: What are these? Burns?

i've have an adult Carpet Pythons, that will only eat 1 large prey item every 4 to 6 weeks,no matter how small, large, etc, the prey, she refuses to eat until at least 4 weeks has past.....

i fine tuned her temperatures, according as to how she used her tank to thermoregulate

i tried offering every 10 days, every 14 days, etc, but it had to be just over 28 days, before hammering down her prey

imo snakes can be weird wee beasties

cheers shaun

They really are!! I WAS feeding him every 7 days, but felt like it was a little too often, so i stretched it to every 2 weeks. Usually a day or two before feeding day, he would start wandering his cage and spend all night attempting to escape, and feeding him would stop all that...now...he's still wandering, still trying to escape, but won't eat. =/
