I have a new Amazon Tree Boa

Last week I received my first Amazon Tree Boa. Juvenile, sex unknown.
I have him/her in an ExoTerra enclosure, with vines, plastic vining plants, and a Cork log on the bottom of the cage. Substrate is Forest Farm bedding and Sphagnum moss. Even though there are vines high in the enclosure, I am finding that this ABT prefers to be in the Cork log on the ground. Does any one else own an ABT ?

Re: I have a new Amazon Tree Boa

I do not have an ATB but I do have carpet pythons. They prefer to perch on rather substantial branches, so your ATB might be staying on the ground because it doesn't have a thick enough branch to perch from. Carpets aren't shy so they'll perch on anything, but I believe ATBs are more private. You'll probably want to use the vines and plants you already have to create cover over a new perch location.
