another litter born today.. all done for 2010

The last of my preggo gals popped today...another batch of healthy babies, no stills or deformed in this lot. Happy birthday little ones.!

I did notice that the amounts of melanin vary greatly from extra light to extra dark.

I may be biased, but this mom is one very beautiful "normal" eastern.

Since the flame trait is a simple co dom, I will be breeding her to my male flame this spring.

she is a very nice looking snake indeed. I cant wait to see the babies of that pairing, there should be some real stunners!!!

A percentage of flames with varying degrees of red.

Some will get the trait and others will not.

Since both mothers were wild snakes that were in my back meadow while mowing was going on, I feel strongly about returning a good percentage of the snakes to the property.

These are litters that would have been part of the local population had I not interfered.
