Nat's....(little bugs) A.K.A. - Gnats

so i was spot cleaning Mar and Roes Tanks yesterday,Roe's tank seems fine nice and clean never really moves from one side of the tank unless i take him out.Roe has Bark bedding on one side and aspen on the other i keep his moss on to the bark as to not wanting to see any mold and will be just taking it all out when my new shipment comes in so no trouble with his tank.

Mar's tank has a little more moss sitting one top the 2 hides and bark bedding, but the last 2 days i have been sitting next to the tank and the living room and seen that i have nat's in his tank like WOW where did they come from... can anyone tell me where there coming from and what i can do to make them go away?

Re: Nat's....

Wait, do you mean gnats? Just to make sure that's what you mean. 'Cause I thought Nat was a reptile, and I was really confused. >.>

Re: Nat's....

Also confused, but if you mean little flying things then it most likely came in with the bark.

I use reptibRk and there are always little flies living in it, apart from the fact they drown themselves in the water bowls so the bowls need cleaning more often we just ignore them.

Re: Nat's....

Most likely they came in the bedding like Rob stated. You can place a bowl of apple cider vinegar near the tank and they will be drawn to that and drown in it.

Re: Nat's....

Fungus gnats are DIFFICULT to get rid of. Usually they lay their eggs in houseplant pots. I've had issues with them and my houseplants at times. If that bedding has mold or fungus you need to pitch it, it is probably full of fungus gnat eggs. Unfortunately, the gnats will probably stick around your house for a while though, especially if you own any houseplants. If I remember correctly, I had to use insecticidal soap to spray my plants/soil/pots with. (Be sure you spray the plants outside or in your bathtub with the door closed and fan on to prevent any of it from being breathed in by you or your pets.)

I have had zero mold or fungus in the reptibark, but every bag has these small flies in. Maybe they are not gnats but thet are certainly small flying things that drown themselves in the waterbowls
