Thank you for the information, the both of you.

It's a very long time from now that I would be looking into purchasing a chondro. I don't have the space right now so I'm just picking up information as I go along for the future. I really do need to purchase one eventually.

I am curious though willow, what does having to touch the bottom the enclosure do with anything?

If i may.. My thoughts are that being able to touch the bottom means that when the animal IS on the bottom he can then reach the perch. If he can't reach the bottom while on the perch you would think once the animal is down.. it won't be able to get back up. Again, maybe i'm wrong but that's just my two cents on it.

Squisher, that's right. Also GTPs do drink from water bowls, and if you have one that wants live prey, it needs to be able to reach it on the bottom of the cage. The snakes feel most secure when clinging to a branch, but need to be able to drink, hunt, and get down to the ground and back up again without too much trouble.

I abosuletly love your chondros - I am new to herp world - but is my long term goal to get a pair - maybe in about ten years - I need more experience and more money. Starting with diamond pythons.

I heard that sometimes thay can be blue, but I haven't seen one yet (unless it's like the aqua coloured one in your collection). Anyway it's nice to see some Aussies thriving in Canada - keep looking after them

roper is not the term...more pleasing to the eye would be more appropriate...cuz if they weren't 'proper' than why oh why do i keep getting babies every year?? just asking.

in this case i'd say basic was a the most appropriate word to use when describing those tanks.....!!!
