Re: My High blue boy...Dial up..no!
They are cute. They are extremely rare though. I think myself and one other guy are the only ones in the US with them. He just had a gravid female (Cirrus) lay eggs when she arrived. Out of the 5, 2 hatched and are taking snails. The first ever born in the US! I've got mine paired up right now, but I think I may have missed the breeding window for the Suriname variety. Mine laid slugs when she arrived in August and Dan's laid eggs in July I think it was. So if she doesn't become gravid this year, I'll pair them up earlier next year. They only eat slugs and snails, although mine take f/t slugs very nicely. I got a can of snails...unfortunately they were chopped up and not whole like the guy said they were, but one of them ate them. Once I separate the two I'll be able to find out who did. If I can get them eating the whole canned snails, then they will be more viable for the pet trade. They are still so hard to find...especially ones that live.
