Has the stripe always been there? Or is it new? And if new, are you positive it hasn't always been there and you didn't notice til now?

Re: Black stripe in a mouth

craigafrechette, I don't know about the time of occurrence of the stripe. It's the first time I filmed her yawning.
The only problem she has it's whistling after she had activity. She is whistling for about a year. She has an appetite and no signs of pneumonia. I have read it can be a sign of a lack of vitamin A. She mostly eats chicken.

It's sounding more like respiratory infection to me.
I haven't had a snake with RI, so I'm not exactly sure what it looks like inside the mouth. But I know that it's supposed to be pink in there.
That, combined with the whistling makes me think RI.

Hopefully someone else with direct experience will chime in.

Thanks for your answer.
There is a great video about upper respiratory infection. And there are there URI signs.
Well, she breathes heavily and whistles after doing muscles work. But she doesn't have extra saliva or saliva bubbles. It has been for a year now. Do you think it's better to give her treatment(antibiotics) just in case?

There is a book from the doctor of biological sciences, professor Flint.
Most untreated cases of pneumonia end death of animal after 2 weeks from the beginning of the illness.
Whistles can be the signs of rhinitis. Black stripe can be a sign of necrosis and it is treated by the antibiotics that are applied in case of pneumonia. So I going to treat her with antibiotics and if she continues whistles I will try to flush her nostrils

Whistles can be the signs of rhinitis. Rhinitis is treated by flushing using syringe and catheter. I think chlorhexidine is perfect fluid to flush.

Please don't flush with chlorhexidine as it can damage mucous membranes and may cause more issues in this instance. I'd do nothing without consulting a licensed veterinarian. That line in the mouth isn't troublesome, as snakes who have mouth rot or any major injury within the mouth will rarely eat regularly.

Just googled and looks like we have veterinarian already. It's interesting how is it expensive...

Perhaps I need to go to consult about her whistles.

Re: Black stripe in a mouth

Andy_G, I have phoned to a vet clinic.
1. On a site listed a woman, but I talked to a man. Very unpleasant conversation.
2. I told him the symptoms and he started consulting with someone else. It means he has no knowledge.
3. They don't have X-rays device. What is the clinic without even having X-rays?
4. He said go to another vet clinic placed on another part of town to make x-rays and then without snake go to him.
It looks like just business (((

The point a book I mention above it\'s a reliable source of information. And taking the symptoms the diagnosis should be pneumonia, rhinitis, or rhinopathy. He didn\'t make such conclusions. He said it can be emphysema.
So the vet is most likely is a scammer and can\'t treat reptiles.
