Yes, definitely! Thanks!

But if anyone asks, I only have 1. The rest just showed up for the house party.

Very nice Saturn!! I'm glad you got your MBK. My first 2 snakes were a Cal King and MBK too.

Re: Questions from a beginner

Thank you! I just HAPPENED to be looking at the shop where we got Taco's website and saw they had one in stock! So I went in to "check him out"...

Beautiful MBK, love the jet black look. I will likely get one of these days.

Perfect looking King! This will definitely be my next addition, for sure! I just wish they would get a little bigger

Ha! I wish they got a bit smaller! I was deciding between MBK and Children's Python. Went with CP because it was marginally smaller. I only have a 20gal at the moment.

Re: Questions from a beginner

Thanks guys!! For our family, I think the smaller snakes will be best in the long run (that's a big reason I went with king snakes in the first place, plus their cute little faces!). But there definitely is something to be said for those larger breeds! If I ever spend enough time around a larger snake I'll probably end up wanting one of those too My husband says this is IT in terms of snake population...we'll see!

So far Mr. Unnamed seems pretty happy. I can already sense that our California is a little more shy...but who knows, anything can happen!

Re: Questions from a beginner

Yes, I think you're right! I got Balthazar (that's the name I've decided on despite some more of my son's wacky suggestions) a new Exo-Terra terrarium like his brother and some other essentials/decor/etc. He's good to go! He's super friendly, which has got my son excited but also bummed out because "his snake" isn't nearly as fiesty. I hope things change, maybe Taco is just more shy. He's never gone to bite me, nor does he seem aggressive. Mostly he just hides and doesn't want to interact. I guess that's just snakes to an extent but already B has been cruising around like crazy. Last night I noticed T's eyes are blue so he must be going into shed mode. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? Ah well, we love them both and I have fingers crossed it'll be fine!

Re: Questions from a beginner

So Balthazar had his first shed with us all in one piece! Lazarus shed a couple weeks ago, but it was all in chunks. I was pretty impressed by this then.

Also, we went to our first reptile expo this weekend. It was really hard not to pick a snake up. However, I upgraded from a "These are the only 2 snakes we're having." to "Why don't you let these grow for awhile before you think about another?"
