Madagascar blue rocks

I'm new to the forum but a long time snake, water dragon collector my girlfriend recently bought two Madagascar bluerock iguanas, similar to a spiney tail just less aggressive. They are still in the juvenile stage and were very healthy up until yesterday when the female of the pair became ill, she keeps her eyes closed half way asw ell as is less receptive to myself. I know these signs are dyer when it comes to reptiles but with such little literature on these guys it is making it difficult for me to figure it out, it is not degenerative bones or mites but a possible infection, her appetite was healthy up until 2 days ago, all her vitamins are in supliment form that is dusted on her crickets and butter worms.. Clyde doesn't want to loose Bonnie! ALL SUGGESTIONS WELCOME PLEASE!!

I read your other post and you also have a green iguana. So I would think you're smart enough to have this already, but besides supplying the vitamins you need to also have UVB so they can be properly absorbed into the body. It sounds like a deficiency in vitamins. I could be wrong as I don't know a thing about these blue rock iguanas.

They aren't like your average iguana they are also known as a blue rock agama, but I make sure uvb is present aswell as all needed vitamins and have checked my temperatures a million times. she got an anti-biotics shot from the vet and is going for a second on monday aswell as her stool is being sent for parasites, right now she is in her own terrarium away from the male, she looks alot better but im just hopeing for the best.

Could you please tell us what your temperatures are? Humidity? You can't ask us to help without sharing all the information. Also what kind of lid do you have? Is the UVB placed ontop of it? How old is the bulb? Which type do you own? What is the distance between the light and the highest part of the enclosure that the lizards can reach?

Iguanas also eat primarily greens and other veggies, feeding animal protiens is not recommended, at least as far as green iguanas go. Maybe try switching her diet to one more heavy on the leafy greens. A google search will give you a good list of healthy veggies.
