Re: My mouse colonies - Fancy & feeders
I learned a trick to stop that smell.
The boys mark their territory, so when I change the cages, I only wipe out the inside with a paper towel, Do NOT wash the inside, the males will start spraying all over again.
once they know their cage is truly theirs, they will stop marking it.

Re: My mouse colonies - Fancy & feeders
Cool. In the animal room at my school, they have a room for mice and whenever anyone opens the door, it's a horrid smell- pungent and musky and just nasty. They change entire cages twice a week, so perhaps the spraying is the problem there...hmmm. That's a cool idea.

Very efficient Sean, I sell 100 mice to the pet store, and get 700 from rodent pro with the money.
That's a very favorable ratio
and the pet store gets me 50 pound sacks of feed at her wholesale price.

Re: My mouse colonies - Fancy & feeders
Wow Wayne, sounds like you can really hustle mice hahaha! j/k but definitely a favorable ratio! i may start breeding rodent colonies once i get my own house, not sure the other apartment residents would be too amazed at breeding mice hehehehe
