LOL, a petshop down the block and around the corner from me has a hatchling green iguana labeled as an anole, and at one time they had bearded dragons labeled as horny toads. I've seen western ribbons here too, labeled as garter snakes which is at least sorta right, they are all Thamnophis.

Latin and the right common names would be a blessing around here.

Talking Just For Jokes

One time just for jokes me and my buddy ripped down all the signs at a pet store and re-posted the tanks with all the latin names for all the reptiles it was so good costomers would come in and be like this is a gray rat even though it was like a lavender corn and it was even confusing to the guys that worked there cause the costomer would ask what kind of snake is this and the guy that worked at the store would say something like thats a bull snake and we'd be like sorry your wrong thats the northern pine snake that is the bull snake over there and that is your red-tailed boa, and over here we have a great selection of ball pythons. It was so fun pulling pranks on everybody.
