You have shop around. I drive a 2003 Dodge minivan and 98 sunfire. My wife and i are both insured full coverage on both.
We pay 50$/mth. I wrote off a brand new truck a few years back and i have lots of speeding tickets and a paint job claim when my car was keyed in GTA. Shop around or get a broker. Your crazy to pay for insurance that adds up to more than the car.
Add it up and it would probley bew cheaper to taxi it.

without any discounts i pay 1100/year on a 99 escort. Thats 2 mill and no comprehensive or collision. Its a good thing i get over 40 mpg, with gas being almost $1/L now

i know what you mean lisa they can be royal dicks, but when it gets down to it i would rather argue with them then a bank or private insurance company (at least the ones that are available here).

I'm with Brian, I recently moved from Toronto to an hour west of Toronto. I contacted my own insurance broker whom I've been with for 7 years, and asked them for the rates for my new location. (I drive a 2000 VW Jetta VR6 and a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire). I was paying $3700/yr. with a 6 star rating. They quoted me $3550 for my location. I then contacted a broker in my new area and they quoted me $1700/yr. for the SAME coverage, then sent me a check for $168 stating that they had over-billed me.

I guess those of us with decent rates should name our companies.

I use Pilot, which I found by going through Stevenson and Hunt ( insurance brokers.

Anyone I've talked to that is also covered by Pilot is happy with them as well.
