Just in time for Easter..

So, 20 days ago my Dad (who has a hobby farm) came to me and asked me if i would put some chicken eggs in the incubator for him.. Since i wasn't expecting any eggs from anything, i said what the he!!, and did it for him.. This morning i woke up to a slight chirping sound.. Here's what i opened the incubator to see..

There's a few more that are starting to show themselves now too.. Maybe i'll get some pics when they decided to come out of the egg.. Pretty fun to watch though...

Yeah Roy, turned them and everything.. They incubate at about 103. It's a pretty neat process to watch (the hatching) its the chirping that gets to you.. LOL

Update..

Okay, so this little bugger must have known i was posting pics and made a mad dash to come out of the egg before the other one (pictured above)...

I have this one set up in a shoebox size rubbermaid with paper towel as a substrate.. Thinking about putting into the hatchling rack for the night.. LMAO..

Awwww -- so ugly, yet so cute! LOL... Be sure to get some pics once they're all hatched and dried off and actually CUTE looking

In Grade 7 we hatched a bunch of chicken eggs as part of science class... it was really cool We kept the babies around for a few weeks after they hatched... we'd take turns having them at our desks and stuff... my favourite was the cutest one of course They were so damn cute...

Thanks for sharing Matt -- now get some sleep! LOL... they'll hatch without you watching over them, I promise

How many eggs did you get from your dad? Hope not too many....or else there's going to be chirping all over the place....

Depends what you consider a lot.. Personally, i consider 5 too many.. But there's i believe, 55 in there.. One out, and 5 more close to being out and about 10 that have cracked the shell.. So, right now, at 4:15am i am listening to 16+ baby chicks chirping.. Nothing will stop it either.. Unless i decided to house them with the snakes.
