*sigh*.. Found him but can't get him..

Well, we just finished setting up one of our ball python's new (and secure) enclosure, and we go to get him out of his rubbermaid, and he's not there! so, we immediatly close the door and start looking. We found the bugger wedged in between my savannah enclosure and the wall..

now the fun.. we can't get him out. the enclosure is too large to move. We tried coaxing him out with a rodent, but he didn't buy it. any ideas on how we can get him out or should we just let him come out on his own. the door is closed to the herp room, so he cant venture very far.

I'd say use a broom handle and kinda gently push him out or if you have the time just sit and wait for him to come out on his own.

THe broom idea sounds good. Or use a snake hook or maby wven a branch off a tree thats the right shape to pick him up and out of there.

hey, this is Jessy.....

He's not coming out of there, and there's not enough room to push him out (he's squished in there!!!), i'm afraid of hurting him if i push him at all....

the spot he's in is just so small and akward....

can't try the pinkie idea, he only eats gerbils (damnit).

anything else?

can you budge the cage in the least bit? if so push it a little and try the broom handle idea. try going from above the snake and get behind it, try putting mineral oil on it to make it a little more slippery. I've used mineral oil for mites on my snake so it shouldn't harm yours as long as you keep it away from it's nose.

Turn the lights out and be patient. Oh and make sure there is no way it can get into the Savanah Tank or the Savanah get to the snake.

Good Luck

hard to explain that he's in the tightest spot he could have gotten to.....
i can't even see his head anymore, he's gone further into behind the enclosure that can't be moved!

is it okay to wait till he comes out on his own? cuz i really don't think we can do anything but that......

try and put something behind him, like IF you can put a broom behind him ( or stuff some towels or somtething like that behind him) so he can't get back their any further. and like I said try putting mineral oil on him once you can get him a little further out to try and slide him out.

justin you have seen my enclosure set up everytime i have an escape that is were they go, so if you can get a snake hook or broom handle to him just lightly bump him on the tail with it he WILL move by doing this then just persuade him to go back out the direction he went in.good luck
