That was a verry interseting read thanks for the link Ohh_Christina.

OHH and Plz dont try and compare under age drinking and raging teen hormons (porn) to me downloading a freaking Movie.

80% or so of vandalisim crimes are done by teens and the real serious stuff was done while they were under the influance.

I am no angel I have done it all B4 but i also paied for my mistakes I just try to warn ppl B4 they get in to deap.

I am the first in line at the movies when horror flicks come out! I love them all. Cheesy of reality based, it's all good. That link was very interesting. Took me 10 minutes to read it all. Tim always bugs me for liking these kinds of movies Anyone got any other suggestions for some good flicks?

LMAO, alright dude, you compared the license thing to someone smuggling baby indian pythons and congratulating them. However, Im not saying that the license thing is right.

Both d/l a movie and having a fake ID are FEDERAL offences, ive seen a guy i use to work with at Wal-mart get arrested for the same thing. They are one in the same...both illegal, so you CAN compare the two. That was the point i was trying to make.

Hey dont get me wrong, almost everyone d/l media from the net. I dont give a ish about it. The second point i was trying ot make was that you were contradicting yourself, preaching follow Federal law when you werent doing do yourself. D/l movies/music is a big time offense and like you said the big boys will go after you.

Do you see my point now???

Thanks

If anyone's ever seen House of 1000 Corpses (Rob Zombie) .... (btw, if you haven't seen it, don't) ... it's a total ripoff of TCM. I own 3 of the 4 TCM's, they're awesome movies... I can't watch the first one alone still... The other 3 aren't AS scary as the first, but it's awesome. I'm interested to see the remake, although I'm really not a fan of remakes... (ie: psycho remake shot for shot was just plain stupid).

Now... if you want to see a REAL horror movie... holy crap... Heather (Punkuponastar) can totally vouch for this one...

Check out The Grudge (also known as Ju-On, as it's a japanese horror film with English subtitles Don't complain about subtitles... PLEASE... it's almost as bad as people complaining about widescreen saying 'the top and the bottom of the movie are cut off!' when in reality it's just letting you see the WHOLE movie... *twitch*) ...

Oh man, seriously, The Grudge is so creepy... It could be related to the Ring, but ACTUALLY scary... I really can't wait for the second one to come out on DVD (It's already been released in Japan)...

CHECK IT OUT! (Go to your local Chinatown (yes I know it's Japanese, but it'll be there))

I've read Ed Gein's biography a while back and he's always been my "fave" freak sicko! Really a twisted mind!!!

Although he was only convicted of two murders, it is rumored that he killed over a dozen women. Body parts of many were found around his house but they were never able to link them to missing women.

I haven't seen any of the Texas Chainsaw movies, I am looking forward to seeing the new remake.

What really surprises me is that the movie is based on Ed Gein? From my recollection of the book, he never used a chainsaw. I can't see how that came in!

Oh well, I'll go see the movie and hope it's good!

d/l music is illegal because it is a breach of copyright laws. I would love to read that article though. I almost certain that the US is enforcing the law more so than Canada, but im sure we'll feel the trickle down effect...think about, Canadians d/l the most out of every nation.

if its illegal explain the surtax on the cd's that we use to burn on
ask a lawyer copyright laws are not the same here in canada as they are in the states
just because the states says something doesnt mean we follow
the music industry in canada is supposed to be getting the money from the surtax from the cds

Does that mean i can go to HMV buy a CD and then burn a copy for all my friends. All this would be legal due to the surtax on CDRs?
Thanks

CDN-Cresties...I think that is taking it to extremes. If you aren't selling the copies to your friends there might not be a problem...I think that the legallity is more for personal use...for example i buy a cd but only have a walkman so i make a copy of the cd onto tape so i can use the walkman...btw the surcharge is on all tapes, cd etc

just because something is legal doesnt mean that its morally right
i havent dl anything in months , your arguing a point with no facts behind you i stated my source was an article in the toronto star explaining the whole thing wish id kept the article so i could copy it word for word
try finding a lawyer that knows his stuff and he will tell you

ok so i guess recording movies off tv should be illegal too or if you pick up a newspaper that you didnt buy, and read it ,then you are infringing on so called papers copyright as you never paid for it

BoAddict,

I couldnt agree more!!!

By stating it was article on the toronto star doesnt truly represent a source. Im not doubting that this article was it the paper, im just stating that i could have said, "well i read in the toronto sun that blah blah blah" Would you believe me then...NO you wouldnt because the source doesnt have enough detail to trace it back..Yea yea i know that you didnt see this dicussion coming so there fore you wouldnt have thought to save the article.

Thats taking it to the extreme.

Yness,

I just brought up that question because i wasnt sure on the point
BoAddict brought up.

Anyway, thats all i got to say.

I always fing it funny how these forums always manage to get soooo off topic LOL, thats good though nothing like a little debate to rile the locals. I say we put all the ppl d/l music in a room with leather face and make a new movie Cyberpirate chainsaw massacre. LOL It will be a block buster!
