I wish I had had an opertunaty to meet Big Ken.
My first experience with Ken was on KS. I'll never forget it. He racked me back and forth over the coals because I said something positive about Steve I never took it personally and Ken answered many of my post back then. I seemed like a nice guy when he wasn't putting you in your place. ha ha.
To all his friends and familly, I'm deeply sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you as well as Big Ken.
Best wishes to all of you,

Words can not express the great loss Canadian Herpetoculture is feeling right now.

I'll be holding onto my Ken Taylor stock with a tight fist from now on.

Thank you Ken for everything.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Taylor, but from what I've been reading, the herp community has lost an amazing person. My condolences to his family and friends.

Ken was also a good friend of mine. He is solely responsible for me getting into herps. But even though this does hurt that he is gone if anyone on this thread has ever talked with him about anything other than herps you'd know that he lived a good life (for the most part). I think we should all be focusing on the good times that we can remember about him. Ken was always ther for me when I had a question and freely offered his knowledge. Ken also was a very generous person as I remember a few years ago when he gave me hell for coming to visit (five hour drive) and renting a motel room for the night instead of staying with him. These are the things that I'll always remember about Ken.

I never met or knew Ken Taylor, but he seems to have really touched a lot of lives, and it's weird, but I'm feeling a great pain right now, possibly just from getting choked up from all the comments here. I deeply regret never having met this guy. RIP "Big Ken"

Oh wow I've been sitting here speechless trying to come up with some sort of reply. I cannot come up with anything that seems appropriate enough. Ken was a huge part of the Canadian herp scene, he helped so many people and contributed a lot to the hobby. He was a great guy... and will be deeply missed by many. My condolences to his family

This is truly a sad loss to all of us..I will always remember when he offered to help me in picking up some turtles from Toronto free of charge, and I'll always remember fishing out his feeder goldfish for his oscars when he would come into Animali where I work...Hopefully his animals will also go to very good homes where breeding will continue. He had alot of interesting species, and I was lucky enough one time to visit with Ken and getthe grand tour.

Res In Peace Kenny!!

Kenny was the only person that had the patience with me in my years starting out. He helped me breed balls and veilds when I had no clue what I was doing. He taught me everything from probing a new snake to breeding mealworms. I also gathered my first hot experiences through Kenny and purchased or was given many herps from Ken. When things started getting rough I felt great when he asked me to take some herps off his hands due to his time restraints. I must say that I have no idea who I will turn to with my questions, but value the knowledge learned greatly. I quess the thing that amazed me most about about Kenny was that he never knocked me for parking my little Honda in his driveway. He always told me that it was alright 'cause once we got on the pavement his "boared out hog would blow the f!@#ing doors off my bike"lol.

Thanks Kenny for the good times and great stories-I am sure you will ruffle a few feathers up there----------DONNY

i was truly shocked when i heard the sad news. i first met ken when he bought a male macki from reptilia. i was lucky enough to be working that day. he told me that if i ever needed anything to call him. the 2 times i did call him he was half way through a tatoo! that still didnt stop him answering my questions. he always knew it was me when i called because he told me i was the only english guy he knew. i'll always remeber ken for his straight talking no nonsense aproach to life. if more people were like him, the world would be a better place.
