R fruit flies a problem?

I have a 50 gal set up for my baby red foots and I just cant seem to keep the fruit flies away. I mean I dont have an infestation by no means but 5 or 6 is 5or 6 too many.
does any body know of any health concerns related to fruit flies that I should know about
any problem you may encounter cannot be solved with the same level of thinking in which it was created!

Iím not an expert and I never add that problem with my herps but I did have it with some of my arachnids. I would say a few are not to bad but I would worry about an infestation. Clean your set up on a regular basis. Do you use natural material in your set up (ex. plants)? Keep watching the situation and think about whatís in your set up that could attract them. As far as health concerns I would say maybe (more yes then maybe), because fruit flies, like all flies are attracted to decaying matter and their presences in large number could indicate that there is something wrong with your set up. Try and put flies traps in the room where is your problem.
