It's quite obvious that some people just don't get it. I don't have the $5,000 CDN to buy an Albino Ball Python, but I have $5,000 to spend on a group of animals that will produce one. Lets talk hets. 100%het female $1,500 & 100% het male $500. For 5G I can have 3 girls & a boy guaranteed to produce Albinos. The only difference between a possible het & a 100% het is that you don't know if its het or not until you breed it out. Anyone that truly understands the concept knows that pos hets are a good thing & can save you thousands & also make you thousands. I don't have the time too explain it now to the people who "Don't get the big picture" but beleive us people 50% pos hets are worth it. Unless you deal with scumbags of course. Mark I.

Like the Rev said, its only useful on very expensive morphs. Noone's selling a corn 50% poss het for albino!

That would be inconsequential Vanan, because normals and albinos in corns sell for the same price. Why bother with a possible het albino corn for $40 when you can buy an albino corn for $40?

Anyone want to buy my possible het for spider ball? only 5,000
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you were joking because het-spiders don't exist. The morph is dominant. No hets man.

Not sure why the joke was funny, but I'm still giving you the benefit of the doubt that you actually knew that spiders were dominant.

I'd only buy a poss het off of someone that had actual morphs for sale.

I agree, buy from a reputable person if you are looking into possible hets. My ball was sold to me as a possible het for albino, and I never got the chance to test it out, but I paid a premium for it. Unfortunately, since I was not sure, and could not remember who the breeder was, I sold the ball off at a normal price. Better safe than sorry, lying only hurts you in the long term.

I would buy a possible het from a reputable breeder, but only if I would be otherwise content selling normals of that species anyway.... just in case the "possible" is not in my favor.

I agree that for a breeder lookin to at a trait into thier collection poss hets are a good deal...but for the average joe ie. me they jsut arn't a good decision.

I wouldnt buy a POSS het Unless its from a reputable breeder....
BUt i know there are starters with good intentions...I will only buy if I see the Parents...In life...

I dont really like poss hets...(will consider if i am looking forward to buy a big group at least 1.3)

Its a gamble

Het means the snake carrys a recessive trait that cannot be seen it looks just like a normal but when 2 hets are bred together it produces the morph it has the hidden trait for
I summed it up as short and simple as possable if you need more LMK

Actually buying a whole clutch of females to breed against a proven het male is best way to increase your chances, not just getting a couple.

Wrongo. Buying a whole clutch has no greater odds of yielding hets than buying one het from multiple clutches. The odds are what the odds are. Buying them all from one source does not increase those odds. Seems like it would, but it doesn't.
