There was a recent news broadcast telling of a 14 foot python found in the basement of a downtown hotel. I adopted the snake, and she is an 8+ foot columbian boa. I guess that didn't sound as exciting as the other story.

(Neither the news nor the animal control officers had any knowledge on snakes.)

ya when you read the news you have to be carefull as to what to beleve at least snake wise. the public is very uneducated on snakes and alot of people still think that a boa constrictor boa constrictor constrictor is the largest snake when accualy it come up to about 6th in the count in the largest snake i think the biggest boa ever recorded was somewhere in the ball park of 16-18 feet but sizes like that in captivity are very rare.

It showed pics of both snakes, pics of their viv. There was the owner saying how it could be eating dogs and cats and how to watch your kids cos if they touched a rabbit the snake could mistake them for the rabbit and strike at them, and that the snake was prbably hiding under a hedge somewhere. There was a pick of a crack in the viv but i don't think it escaped through that crack, the viv was in their garage.
