nooooooo!

my buddy stops by to check out my herps i take them out let him hold them and when i go to take out my yearling bci she tags me on my arm well i jumped like a little b&*@$ it didn't hurt however this is the first time i had been tagged in the past4 years of keeping snakes. then it goes and tags me again on the hand so i figure it must be hungry so i thought i would show my friend it eating. it grabs the fuzzy at first sight then lets it go. oh man did this little yearling make a fool out of me. i just cant get over being tagged twice in less then 5 mins. just thought i would share my hummilation.

I think a fuzzy would be more like an appetizer to a yearling BCI. Hell, I give my 3 foot Miami Corn adult mice, and she takes 'em down like they're nothing. My 8 month BCC eats rats.

Nonetheless, it's pretty odd for a BCI to tag you twice in 5 minutes. If you're feeding it frozen/thawed, try soaking the prey in hot water to warm it up if your snake won't take it. If it was hungry and sensed the heat from your hand, that could explain the aggression.

i feed her those baby rats i think they are called fuzzys the snake was only born in april of 2003. i thought the same thing she tagged me because of the heat from my hands and she was hungry. i feed her f/t and i boil some water right before its ready to go in the cage and i pour that over the rat.

Prozac for reptiles?
Actually was her eyes clouded?
And it is not so uncommon for a snake that young to have the odd moment of jumpiness. They need to learn how to feel secure the same as the owner.
