I think it's really stupid to keep such a big snakes and don't have backyard to let them for sun baths.

Re: walking with snake on you

Different cultures, different standards, different mentalities...difference of opinions.

Myself? I’d never do it, especially to risk dragging a snake’s head on the ground, in the sand, etc., and it cann’t be good to support them like that due to their weight, etc. I wouldn’t expect them to live that long, handling them like that...but who knows.

But if those individuals have been doing that since the snakes were small, and now they’re so BIG, what do I know about husbandry then???

In addition to stress and liability, what about people passing by with pets? Or even a squirrel or rabbit wandering by? Wouldn't want a feeding response triggered.

Just imagine the outcry and negative press if one of those big snakes ate someone's chihuahua.

Re: walking with snake on you

I'm confused, do you live in a high-rise building or a village?

Annnnyway. I live in an apartment with no back yard and two nocturnal snakes, so sunlight usually just stresses them out. They are more at easy when I handle them at night.

Well there are 15 5-floor houses. It's ex military USSR stuff.

I saw a lot of movies about animals where carpet crawl at day time.

Re: walking with snake on you

It's not walking a dog down the street. The act has no benefit to the snake. I've only taken a few of mine outside in the backyard. I've gotten all mine as babies so I haven't taken most out due to being so small I'm worried about them escaping. I'll do it more as they get bigger.
