Re: My Little Helper
Cute pics! Hate to be a buzzkill but have to point out that snakes, specially Boids should not be allowed around anyones neck, specially a child. It is a bad habit many herpers have that could lead to serious incidents. A startled snake around a childs neck can become an instant chokehold. Most folks fail to realize how strong a snake really is until it is constricted around them. Anyhow around the neck is a total NO NO in this Herpers opinion. The shows that I attend do not allow folks to place any snakes around anyones necks. There was a huge issue at a Canadian show involving a young girl & a cornsnake that never would have happened if the snake was not allowed around her neck. Its a very bad practice anyway & can pose serious risk. Anyone that thinks otherwise has obvisouly not had an otherwise harmless snake constrict them before. I have had a 5 ft Python constrict my arm to the point it was purple before & it was all I could muster to remove it from my arm. I'm 6'2" 230lb BTW, I have had other snake breeder friends have the same issues with similar sized snakes as well. Like I said hate to be a buzz kill, but snakes around necks are a very bad idea. Speaking from experiences, Mark
