Hey everyone, just wanted to share a brand new forum to your benefit. Its come to the attention of the staff here that there seems to be a huge trend of members putting links to their websites in the General discussion. The problem being that it not only makes the GD untidy, but it detracts from the possible attention some of these sites might otherwise receive. So what we have decided to do is create a place on the board where you can put links up to your sites for everyone to look at. The idea here is that your site may only get a day of attention in most cases in the GD as the number of posts quickly pushes it down where ppl no longer generally catch it. My guess is that this new forum will not have the same crazy amount of traffic therefore your site will have a better chance of being noticed.
There is some basic rules however.
1) It must be your site
2) Its not a free space to spam or advertise any item to be sold, nor is it a space to advertise other forums.
3) It must be reptile related
4) The content of the site must be for a general viewing audience....we would never allow links to content that would offend.
5) It will be a moderated forum, therefore removal of any link will be at the disgression of the Mod staff.
The only other thing that we ask is that in your original header you state that its a website your posting. Far too often ppl try to generate attention by creating a title on the front page of the site such as "check this out". This becomes a problem to many members who feel that they have been tricked into visiting someones site, therefore its really no better then spam. From here on out, all webpages and ads as such will be moved to the new forum. You will not be warned....we will just move them. I hope everyone helps us out in this trial run as it is basically the only way we see to keep things organized in the GD, other then basically not allow weblinks period.
