Looks nice, but if what you want is badlands, then you need to Dinosaur Provincial Park. Sure it may be a few thousand kilometres, but I'd say it's worth it. It's about 3 hours southeast of Calgary, and it's really amazing. I got there every summer (twice when it's possible) and it's always the highlight of the summer... err.. year. I've seen several rattlesnakes, caught a bullsnake, and caught and saw several wandering garter snakes. Plus it's always a good 4-7 degrees warmer than Calgary . And it's always a blast since I go with my best friends. There's a little creek that we hike up for about half an hour, then inflate our little air mattresses, and float down for 1.5-2 hours. I can't say enough good things about it.
