Now you should see our lawn. It's never sprayed or fertilized .. for that matter it's rarely cut looks like a jungle, but the snake loves it. lol

Now I'm certainly no expert on chemical sprays but I would say that a snake could go out a lot sooner than something like a turtle or anything that would be eating the grass. Does the lawn get watered much (ours doesn't ) I would think any residue would go away faster if washed off. Personally, I would wait a few weeks before letting your snake on it, and then I would give him a bath after. Just my 2 cents worth.
